Back on the plains in 2019 to share in nature's spectacle

Day 7: Southern Oklahoma

The smaller cell fires

The smaller cell fires

Yet another moderate risk today. It’s turning into quite the long weekend. Today storms are expected to fire further South on the Oklahoma/Texas border, so we’re off on another drive down the I35 to Ardmore, Oklahoma, but might end up dropping south into Texas. Today’s setup looks similar to yesterday, so some strong storms are likely. We plan to get Southeast of them before they get going, allowing us to manoeuvre into position. Please no more storms in towns though, its getting a bit ridiculous.

We’re looking to place ourself at the intersection of the cold front and the dry line (the line separating dry desert air and moist gulf air). Fingers crossed!
