Day 11 saw us pushing back North into Nebraska. We had a slight risk of severe weather, though the tornado risk was marginal. So it proved – not a single touchdown was reported across the continental United States. We passed by a number of discrete cells, but none had enough moisture to do anything exciting until after dark, by which time we were back in Ogallala, Nebraska and were treated to an amazing display of sunset mammatus. Mammatus clouds don’t get much better than this!
