It’s the final chase. After a hugely eventful week with more storms than I can count that have packed everything imaginable, its time to hang up my radar and return to civilian life.
But not until we’ve had one more crack at it. Today we are staying southwest of Oklahoma City, hoping to catch any isolated storms that form on the tail end of the cluster of storms. Further north the tornado potential is stronger but also a higher chance that storms will be in close proximity to each other. One thing we have lacked this trip is sight of too many storms on their own in clear air, so that is our plan for today. Additionally the terrain is full of trees, and the road network is less good meaning that chasing would be difficult.
If the storms get too close to Oklahoma city, we’ll abandon and jump on hopefully the next one to the southwest.
